My old shop compressor let the smoke out of it 2 years ago. I was right in the middle of a busy work week, so I just ran out and bought a new compressor.
My old one is a big cast iron Emglo. The kind that is made to last forever. The little pressure release valve stuck, so the compressor was starting under a load. I did not notice right away, and the electric motor went up in smoke . I want to repair the pump, and rebuild the motor . This would make a great replacement for the spare craftsman I use in the upstairs part of my building .
I had paid to have this done once, and it was almost $300, Im betting I can do it for 50$ and a little bit of time .
5 horsepower 3 phase motor. Anybody ever played with one ?
