A hundred years ago, when I was starting out in a restaurant, I ran a commercial dishwasher for a while. No way I would want one of those in my house. It basically sterilized the dishes, for lack of a better term, all the "cleaning" was done before I loaded it.

I've had a Bosch for the better part of 20 years. I run it daily and don't have any problems. The buttons on the front can be prone to breakage internally, but I eventually figured out I don't need to use any of them, as I just run the same cycle every day.

When I have a big dinner, assuming I clean up at all that night (which is not a given,) what doesn't fit in the Bosch sits in the sink until the next day. No big deal. The last thing I want to do after a nice dinner is bust my ass in the kitchen. I have a second dishwasher in the garage, that I was given by a friend when he remodeled his kitchen, and I may install it in the pantry. I was going to replace the Bosch, but frankly I don't see the point.
