I had similar symptoms as you describe in my one foot. I had fractured a metatarsal in that foot in high school. I went to see a podiatrist, who ran some x-rays, and determined that I had pre-arthritis in that foot. They made a pair of orthotic inserts for my shoes and all is well now.
