Never tried any of the pumpkin spice ales, I was warned not to. Maybe I'll have to ignore the warning and give one a try. I make a vanilla bourbon porter for my winter brew that I really enjoy. This year I'm adding a twist with bourbon barrel chips soaked in bourbon and then added during secondary/aging to see if I can get a bit of the "oaky" flavor that I like in other similar brews.
For a fall beer I really like Sam Adams Oktoberfest. Right now I'm impatiently waiting for my Coconut Caramel Brown Ale to finish carbonating.
