Hennessey 2015 Mustang breaks 200mph

After hitting the rev limiter at "only" 195 mph in a black supercharged 2015 Mustang GT with 717 horses, the folks at Hennessey Performance had one singular goal in mind:

The 200 mph barrier.

Clearly, the 717 hp provided by the tuner's HPE700 kit wasn't enough—never mind that the limitation seemed to be gearing, not power. Enter the HPE750 Supercharged Mustang, kicking out a claimed 774 horses and 648 lb-ft of torque.

Hennessey says this beastliest of tuned Mustangs will do 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, on its way to a quarter mile in 10.9 at 133 mph. All that extra motivation comes from a 2.9-liter supercharger; upgraded intake, fuel system, and computer tuning; and, of course, all the Hennessey and HPE750 badging you'll need to set yourself apart from your neighbor's stock GT. The HPE750 runs the same 3.15 differential gear as the example that maxed out at 195 mph, but bumping the redline up by 500 (to 7700 rpm) helped the pony pass the 200-mph barrier, John Hennessey explained to R&T in an email.

What does that add up to? Well, when Hennessey put Brian Smith behind the wheel at the 8.5-mile high speed oval at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, he screamed down the back straight to a GPS-verified top speed of 207.9 mph.
