The Japanese work ethic, pride in their work, and attention to detail is amazing, at least, it was when I was there.

When I was a kid, my dad was in the Navy, we moved from Florida to Japan, then back to Florida, then back to Japan and then to Virginia. The military paid movers to come pack and ship your household goods. Going from the US to Japan, it was expected that not everything would make it. Going from Japan to the US, nothing turned up missing or broken, ever. It seemed like every task they did, they performed the task as if someone's life depended on it.
