Really, what you do not know is that they tried to substitute the Merlin engine for the Allison...thus I said PROTOTYPE. In the end it did not work. My Dad worked on that project.

Dad used to tell me that sometimes he would walk through the 2nd floor of the Packard Plant on East Grand Blvd where they would assemble the custom bodied cars...
