1965 Polar Prix was the first race for Carroll Shelby GT350 Mustangs.
In the 1966 photos our car, the Dallas-built Vetta Ventura with Tom Johnson driving is shown. C Modified was a tough class with McLaren Elvas and Birdcage Maserati for competition.
If fender flares on the Vetta Ventura look suspicious, it's because we copied the flares on Tom Johnson's younger brother Delmo Johnson's Grand Sport Corvette. Yes we ran race number 1. Either Tom or Delmo got that number. Even at Sebring.
