Some family property 360 acres has 3 ponds. One is 5, 3, and 1 acres. The 5 and 3 are fed by runoff. The 1 acre is spring fed. The 1 acre is crazy with blue gill, bass, frogs, and turtles. The 5 has bass and beaver. The 3 acre is relatively new and is the only one that has a major algae problem. Has a big fountain aerator and have been stocking with sterile carp and doing some kind of chemicals. Still over run with that algea stuff. The 5 and one have been stocked with bass and sunfish respectively and the property has also been well stocked with rabbit and quail for more than 50 years. And there are various deer feeders (as if they needed them).
As I was growing up it was where we went camping and hunting. In 2000 my brother built a couple of cabins and added the 3 acre pond out in front of one of the cabins. Not stocked for hunting and fishing any more. Brother's father-in-law's dad did that.
