afterburn 549 any idea what fuel pressure you need to regulate to ? I agree with you on the mechanical pump vs. electric . My 2001 Duramax has a mechanical pump and I'm at 164,000 miles and counting . Anyway back to your scenario , do you know for a fact the mechanical fuel pump on the older Cummins has a pressure regulator ? Is it possible it runs direct pressure from the pump ? Wish I could be more help .
