My next door neighbor goes to Dallas to visit her Mom. She always rents a car to keep the mileage off her own. Her last car was a Honda Accord. Now she has a Hundai Sante fe. Just can't imagine a rental car costing less for a weekend than the mileage depreciation/service on a car you already own. Especially since it's all highway and the Santa Fe gets good gas mileage. And it's not like she rents a high gas mileage car either.\

When I asked her about it, it is all about keeping the miles off her car so it would be worth more later. It was a Honda Accord and now a Santa Fe, can't image THAT much difference in a lower mileage car of those models.
