“How far 'out of town' is that?
And how much snow do you get?”
It’s 1 ½ miles outside of a town of 3000 people. Last year we didn’t get enough snow to get the shovel out. Some years we get a foot. It seldom stays on the ground for more than a week.
“Nice. Are you going to get goats or a horse to keep that pasture trimmed or is it time for a tractor? “
I already have the tractor. I’ll need to get a 6 foot finish mower for it. We don’t plan to mow much. Mrs WD is going to grow lavender for sale, I’ll put in a small mixed orchard of 12 or so fruit trees, and we’ll have a big vegetable garden. Eventually we’ll be feeding out a hog and a steer for the freezer.
“Where is this now? I won't even guess on price but I'm assuming that it was shockingly cheap due to location.”
It’s located just outside the Cincinnati-Dayton corridor. The price would no doubt shock anyone from either of the coasts.

We are the farthest house out of town with city water and natural gas.
