I did go into the Rod And Gun Saloon in Stanley Idaho years back. The place was packed with the evening's entertainment being some yodeling country and western band. There was one table with an older guy and his wife and a few extra chairs.
Me and my brother asked if it was ok to join them, the guy said yeah, he was just waiting for an old buddy who he had attended veterinary school with.
To my surprise his buddy was Baxter Black, famous cowboy poet. Great and funny guy, boy can he tell stories! He even bought me a beer.
