Ruf CTR had twin intercoolers, one in each rear fender well, well really placed in a cutout between the fender well and the engine compartment. I assume they got fresh air from the fender well, and some had the slats. Check out that ultimate Ruf thread. Also the 1988 Road and Track special series of worlds fastest cars has the Ruf and shows a nice clear picture of the installation. If someone has that issue and can scan the pic, that would be great! Its on page 15, and clearlty shows that a stock decklid could be used on the car. I suspect the car would be a little nervous at top speed though
