hostile workplace, HR, mgmt, and consultants oh joy!

So.. my boss was hit with a "hostile workplace" claim by 2 employees with 3 charges total, after 5 months of HR review, one charge stuck of "favoritism" because the boss went kayaking a couple of times with one of my coworkers.

So now, we are having a 6 hour meeting with consultants on Friday, the last day of work before the college closes for 2 weeks. A day I'm typically very busy, and when the work is done we all leave early.

I was sent a non-anonymous survey today (have to authenticate to access it) by a consulting group that HR hired, and I don't particularly agree with their privacy policy and security policy and completing it shows that I accept the policies. So I'm not completing it - although I was asked verbally to do it by close of business tomorrow (NOT by my boss or anyone in HR) and the email I got from the consultants asked for it to be completed before Jan 1.

I did look at a coworker's survey, and all the questions are about "your team". Well, our department has 4 distinct groups, and they didn't define "team" for me. Yet another reason to not complete the survey.

Friday will be fun - I love the folks I've worked with for 20 years, but the two newest hires (about 3 years ago) have destroyed my department's reputation on campus, and have tried to poison relationships in our department.

I don't do "team building exercises", I don't play silly games at the work place, I don't do personality tests, I don't do departmental retreats, etc.

How much of a polite, professional ******* should I be on Friday?
