Yesterday my fuel pump went out on the '83 Westy. So this morning I drove the '89 Tristar to work. A coolant hose blew. I got the Tristar back home but I can't drive it at this time. I had to go on a site visit 30 miles away. It's a nice warm day here in CA, so I drove the Beck Spyder. When I got to the job site, the engine quit. Dead battery. Must be the alternator or voltage regulator. I got a ride home with the tow truck. I still had to go back to the office, so I drove the oldest car of them all, the '50 beetle. 3 breakdowns in 24 hours! Can anyone beat that?

I have to go home now. Let's hope the old bug is up to the task.

(BTW, the 912 is on a rotisserie right now - it's not going anywhere for a while.)
