The "more drieveable" bit is a matter of preference, as with enough of a bump in power (just a bit more - not talking a 600hp monster build required), 1st gear in the g50 becomes useless, and then you are back to a 4 speed that simply has narrower gear spacing and requires more shifting than the 930 box. That same bump in power makes a 930 box pretty much a dream to use (with regard to RPM/gear spacing).

And not trying to be argumentative, but what do you mean by "Euro pipe"? They all had the same muffler, and the only difference aft of the turbocharger was that the later 1980's USA Turbos had a catalytic converter between the turbine outlet and the muffler. The muffler was not the real reason for the legendary turbo lag, however; by far the primary cause was the horrible, 3LDZ, stock turbocharger - replace that with something better (which is pretty much anything) and you get much better throttle response (earlier and smoother boost delivery). The original mufflers were a big negative, though, as they are very heavy and restrictive enough to choke power output.
