I've recently lost a bid on Ebay for the Carrera intake manifold I was planning to run. I've hacked up the stock airbox so It's basically a throttle body with a plastic plenum under it. My concern is that is has one of those "pop-off" valves on it for backfires. Obviously, I can't leave this if I'm running boost.
My plan was to just Jb-Weld it shut. Sounds ghetto, but am I wrong to assume it would hold 10psi? Would the plastic plenum even hold 10psi?
I've also decided to tune for fuel only and run a dizzy for first start. Tackling spark/fuel at the same time seems like it would complicate things a bit. Nobody has come forward with a base fuel/spark tune to copy so it will be easiest for me to handle one at a time.
