Occam's razor much ? Yes, Ambien has a very well documented side effects like "sleep-walking" and if that closet used to be your bathroom, well then, problem solved.... You already have sleep issues, you don't need to worry about CT scans too... Find a way to relax and sleep that does not involve chemicals...
If I had a brain tumor for each time I sleep-walked when stressed out, I'd look like elephant man... I never peed in a closet though ;-) I think the book "the subtle art of not giving a F#$$" also helped a little
