This only works on my 944 if I am deeeeeep on the brakes, otherwise at my height it just doesn't happen. For street driving I keep my heel on the floor, using the top of my foot to hit both as needed.
If you can't do the foot rotate, then give it a try, but I find I can only pull this off for my body dimensions when the brake pedal is farther down than I would want to encounter on the street.
