Another take on the wedge: The Stratos Zero. This thing was TINY ! Michael Jackson leased it from the designer in Italy , had it flown over to the special effects shop next door to ours in North Hollywood. The car was not to be attempted to start, there were all sorts of non disclosure agreements we all had to sign at that time, no pictures to be taken.
The Filmtrix crew made molds off of it so the resulting cars could be used for the Moonwalker video that MJ was producing.
to get in, you would step on the ribbed rubber panel on the nose, then step into the interior and pull the steering column towards you. You were literally looking at people's knees.

Two or three formula fords were chopped up to carry the new shells, and we helped with a 911 powered mid engine Jump car for the flying stunts. Following the production the replicas were supposed to be crushed. Rumor has it one still exists in a crate someplace. The real one ? It went back to Italy in the belly of an Alitalia jet, then the museum tried to start it w/o changing out all the fuel hoses: Woof! fuel fire. They restored it and it was offered for sale at auction.
