I've had cataract surgery done in both eyes, one 8 years ago, the other 10 (+ or -).
I've had poor distance vision since I was a kid, had worn contacts since high school. Really poor distance vision, like 20-2000. Couldn't see the big E on the chart, but was ok with contacts. Started needing 'cheaters' to read in my 50's.
After both eyes were done I ended up with a distance eye and a reading eye (as in seeing all the fine print on a dollar bill).
I was never much of a sunglasses wearer, still don't.
Get it done.
