No one has yet talked about value when complete, so I will. Here's the deal - a 912-6, even when nicely done will never be worth as much as the same car with a 911 VIN. That's OK for many people.
I have gone down this road with my 914-6 conversion. Like your car, it's perfect in most every way and is a high end build with GT flares and a purpose built motor. Every inch of it is restored. It's probably worth 50K as a conversion but it will never be worth what a true 914-6 is worth.
This may or may not affect your thinking.
When I saw this thread i was going to tell you to go buy a 911 until I saw the pics of your car. You are 90% there, bro. I would convert the one you have, keeping in mind it will always be a 912 and priced accordingly.
