I should also add....these are 6 volt cars so from a safety perspective - attention should be given to the electrics as it applies to head and tail lights so you are visible to others at night. Clean grounds is usually the first step. Some have converted to LED and/or 12v but the 6 volt systems work just fine if attended to, IMHO.

Also make sure you have proper seat belts. And suitable insurance.

Stay on top of the brake maintenance and steering coupling. For the most part these are simple machines to keep running and a blast to drive when properly maintained.
