An awesome weekend addition to the garage.
A couple of years ago, my brother (Pelican "Cabmando") asked me to transport a 911 door from Ohio to Virginia to "sell" to someone in VA. Turned out, he gave it to my wife (a graphic designer who worked for Marine Corps Marathon creating designs for medals, shirts and such), who had designed a door wrap to put on it as a Christmas Gift.
The wrapped door sat in my basement for a long time, waiting for me to pull the trigger on replacing the fixed quarter / vent windows on my 911 with rotating vent windows. I finally got around to the project a couple of weeks ago:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/982062-gordos-targa-vent-window-swap-fixed-rotating.html, which allowed me to install my old fixed vent window onto the wrapped door / wall art.
I've been way overdue getting this hung.
I probably spent 2 hours in the garage this evening doing nothing but sipping a home brew and admiring…
Gordo
Side note: credit / shout out also goes out to the Pelican member who donated the door handle to my brother - solely based on an understanding of what it was intended for. Will update this post with a "thanks" once I hit up Cabmando for the Pelican's name.
