Agree with the OP and others about too much service. I've found that the customer service at Trader Joe's and Costco to be the best combination of "leave me alone" and "Can you help me?" Typically, the employees are busy on the floor doing something functional but when you ask for help, they immediately drop everything and either escort you to the product or go find out if it is available. In both stores I have found the employees to be friendly and knowledgeable with clearly a training on customer service.
