CA DMV says they’ll offer DLs that are Real ID-compliant starting on Jan 22nd of this year. So, I’d recommend waiting until after the 22nd to renew, Jeff. Make sure you have the appropriate documents to provide to the DMV, so it can be a one-and-done visit.
