So I called HR and gave them the date of March 19, 2018. I must say, HR was amazing, within 1/2 hour they assigned me a retirement counselor; for pension, benefits, 401K, COBRA, etc. I'll be taking COBRA until I turn 65 nine months after I retire until I can draw Medicare.
The Boss also said I can come back as a consultant with as much work as I'd like to take on. Several other Studios, Sony, Netflix, Warner Bros., Paramount and Universal have already offered to have me come on as a consultant.
Retirement may not be as relaxing as I thought it would be, but at least I'll be in the enviable position of being able to pick and choose assignments.

You suck! (green with jealousy).
Serial, have a good time and enjoy.
I've known people who were so into their career that it became their identity, the work defined them. When they retired they lost their sense of self and worth.
Most of them ended up sitting in a chair waiting to die, and often that didn't take long.
I'm betting that won't be a problem with you, and the idea of consulting would cover that transition even if it were a problem.
I'm counting the days until I retire, obviously you've earned it!
