have you experimented with acoustic foam and the like?
would be interesting to put a spectrum analyzer in the room and search for materials that absorb the prominent frequencies.

Well i had #6 adjusted perfectly but then just before i tightened it a butterfly in Zimbabwe farted and now i have to start all over again!
