Ok then, now that we are on the same page. So your car is an early year model, then yes somebody has updated the front hubs/rotor etc. to get away from the unobtainable floating rotor assemblies of the early cars.
As you can probably surmise, if you take material off of the front surface where the wheel mounts, that would move the inside of the wheel closer to the caliper and rotor, so you might end up with the same issue you now have on the rears, with the wheels hitting the caliper.
Incidentally, removing material from the hubs wheel mount face is a REAL BAD idea.
Unfortunately what you need, are front wheels with the correct offset....damn!
