We still have one at $60+/mo. It serves a couple of purposes. Since we live in a fire danger area, and additionally have very infrequent power outages, I can usually plug in the old style phone into the jack and have service. Additionally we don't have a cell signal here, so getting rid of it is out of the question. They've installed steel poles in our area that won't burn, so if we ever get a cell tower in the area, and it gets knocked out, we most likely will still have land line service.
