Another story of old Alfa prices. I found one of these when I was in college in 1975, a garage find. Running and driving, complete but needed bodywork, paint and general restoration. It was fully mechanically rebuilt in Italy (complete documentation) and came back with an Army guy who was stationed there. It was sitting in dad's garage and had to go. I paid $700 and drove it home on the interstate at 75mph. Sold 2 yrs later for $2,500. New owner drove it home from NJ to West VA.
