I drained the system. After cleaning and drying things the o-ring did have a nick and a pinch that tore the surface.
Replaced the ring with a hardware store Viton ring. With a couple garage heat cycles on it things are still dry.
I only put about 2600 miles on the car since I installed the center radiator and replaced the AOS.
