One of the guys I sat next to at my conference last week is the programmer for customizing the scripts they use at a large company. He said is 12 year old niece saw him coding one weekend. She wanted to learn more. He said she was a natural and in no times was very good at it. He gave her a few tasks to code for a custom script. She did so good the company now uses it. He said she is only a kid and no way in heck can they put her on the payroll or even let the HR department know she is working for them. He has her help on his projects now and then buys her the "stuff" that she wants with her parents approval. He told her when she is old enough he will be sure to hire her as an intern, and she will be full time quickly. She is 12 and already has a career set up.
