For most of what you fly a Tri-Pacer would be just the ticket or if you want all metal a nice C152.

Oh we know all the pitfalls of ownership. At the last company we worked at the company bought a 1965 Cessna 206 in 1969. It was used a LOT! and we dealt with all the headaches. It had over 14 engines on it of the years and they all went past TBO.
We were paying $500 per month for a hangar and all it had was a few 20 amp electricity outlets. We have a spreadsheet now with all the numbers and when the numbers show it is time to own we will. There is a local Cessna 175 that is cheap that we will have the logs looked at and an inspection done. It is OLD but is if is in sound mechanical shape and corrosion free, it will be a good purchase.
