Brooks wanted Frankie Lane to sing in the sound track, but when he found out what Brooks was doing turned it down.
Richard Pryor did a lot of the script (hard not to see that huh!), and was wanted by Brooks for the role of the Sheriff, but Pryor was thought to be too unpredictable by the studio execs.
As stated earlier the Lilly Von Sthup character in Blazing was a parody of Marlene Dietrich
's Frenchy role in Destry Rides Again..with Jimmy Stewart 1939
Stewart, Hepburn and Cary Grant teamed up in 1940 for the Philadelphia Story where Stewart won an Oscar.
