No experience with renting out a house or apartment I own but I have rented some very cool places via Airbnb and VRBO.
I have not had any problems with either and have stayed in some really interesting and nice homes in great locations.
I like it when the landlord is fussy about their renters. Not as many problems with the party crowd.
RWest has a good point in knowing the lay of the land in different locations. I have heard of some condo associations cracking down on absent owners renting out apartments.
Your website looks great. Would point out that Red Lodge Mountain is probably not all that far away. Looks like a cool ski area. What is it like?
It is a bit far out (9.5 hours on good road) for a weekend trip from Calgary.
Edit: I should read a bit more carefully. I see you did mention the ski area.
