I hate DBW on old cars from a philosophical point of view but they do offer a lot of features and make part throttle dyno tuning WAY WAY easier. Early 996 gas pedals have a cable that comes out of them that runs to a remote position pot. One of these hacked up and hidden combine with the e46M3 actuator can make a very clean and "hidden" DBW setup.
