I wouldn't pay anything more that what you figure your could get selling the parts you can verify. IE: Intake, fuel sytem, exhaust, electrical parts, fan & housing......ect. Probably ~$1000. If you cannot verify engine components you are taking a huge risk. Having said that, It's not to hard to verify some parts, does it turn over by hand? (I always like to oil it up before trying). Remove valve covers, look for broken studs, nuts, valve components ect... compression test ect.....Pull spark plugs look inside (an engine scope helps here) look for anything unusual ect...price goes up according to how much you can verify. If engine had failure, lots of internal parts can be effected and can be either not worth, or impossible to salvage.
