Funny story. My friend was the set decorator on Godfather III. He was scouting Little Italy and someone stole his nice leather bag with his script and his 35mm Nikon camera and some personal items.
A few weeks later he was told he needed to see this "wiseguy" to rent all of the sausage carts, flower carts, etc. for the scene even though he knew he could get them cheaper renting and trucking them out from LA.
He ends up striking up a friendship with the guy and spent $$$$ on cart rentals, and casually mentioned his script bag being stolen. 2 days later the guy hands him his script bag complete with camera, script and personal belongings intact.
