My brother used to work in Chad, Africa for a big oil company.

They tried bringing civilization in the form of road side porta-potties, but traditions are hard to break.

They then put up no pooping signs which I still remember my brother posting an image of on Facebook, that didn't help matters much but it sure was funny.

The guy I know that poops outdoors is a builder (no cigars - sorry Dean).

All the builders I know have a favorite corner on the side of their house so they can go #1 before going inside the house. That serves an actual function as they might be holding it until they get home but are all muddy and still might have to unload the truck.

It's a really odd thing but must go along with other primal behaviors, and let's face it most just are not cut out for indoor office life. If you don't like the great outdoors, I suggest not becoming a builder. They are a different breed.
