I think it'd be pretty good to start out with a 4Runner/Rav4 or a Civic/Accord/Corolla/Camry. I'd almost always consider the first car a writeoff (maybe that's just me). Chances are they'll hit some things along the way or get some nice dings, scratches, and dents here and there, being their first car. It'll also probably save you lots of money on your insurance using more normal cars.

Insurance suggested no SUV. I'm not against honda ect.. was just trying to upgrade a car n keep a low mileage dependable car.
