I was excited to get a car, I'd be able to go places without taking up my parents time, head out to the Remote control track more often.
The insurance, ack ack ack, it was ALL I could afford at 18 and still meet my monthly savings goal.

Care to share the shocking number? My memory is fuzzy, I think it was somewhere north of $1400 for my first 6 months liability only..
I paid $4,000 for my 944.
A ticket would have put me off the road.
I loved my car though. A texting 22 year old in Dad's big Tundra pick up failed to stop for a line of stopped traffic, I was at the back of that line. My car did not survive, but I did.
