My 2007 F150 5.4 has the infamous 2 piece shielded 100K mile plugs. Steel plug shield fuses to aluminum head. After many miles and billions of heat cycles, plug breaks in the head when one tries to remove them. Broke 7/8 plugs, used special 'extraction tool' and was successful on 6/7 broken plugs. Had to pull the head to get the last one out. What a PITA!!!
Would love to talk to the ford / champion plug engineer that came up with that brilliant concept.
