A Great Day to be a Motorcyclist in the PNW
Wow, what a day - sunny and actually breaking into the 40's. You see, we have two kinds of weather this time of the year up here in the upper left corner - clear and cold with ice in the shadows of every road, or raining and about 36 degrees. Unless it's snowing. It's a rare day that we have both sun and warm enough temps to not form our notorious hit-the-dewpoint-then-freeze-overnight black ice.
So, what's a fella to do? Why, take the old 900 SS out for a little spin - or more like a couple hundred miles of backroad fun. Granted, I ride all year, even on wet roads on chilly days, just not on the Super Sport. That's what my XR650L, or even my Road King, are for.
What a joy today - she had the "bit in her teeth" and was eager to play. The confidence of knowing there are no wet leaves, no ice, or any other surface hazards around the next bend sure makes it a lot more fun (and stress relieving) to let 'er rip. What a day. Spring is in the air... more of these days to come...
