Bout 20 years ago, a friend and I visited his brother in Chatanooga, and that was our return route. We were in tee shirts down in the Plains stopping at a lake, just enjoying ourselves. So we continue up the mtn....started to see a bit of ice near the top....we tried our best, and there was just a few miles of it at the very top...even the few 4WDs were turning around....so we relented and we literally slid back down the mtn. Added about 4 hours to our "leisurely drive" return home, and a few pucker moments too
. Beautiful area indeed....
