One time when I was a shipboard dentist in the Navy, early in my career, I was cranking hard on a wisdom tooth during an extraction. So hard that I did not notice as I "passed wind" very loudly. All three of us (the patient, myself and the assistant) busted out laughing, so hard that I dropped my instrument on the floor (on the deck that is in Navy speak).
So my answer is yes.
