Fred Flintstone has given many a dollar to children's charities over the years.
He sometimes answers my phone as well.
Many a time I have been a jerk. I pretty much know when, and I don't BS myself about it. Imagine all people that a cashier gets to meet in a single day. The average person doesn't give a care about the cashier. And that is just the average person. Half care even less.
''Yeah, but what about MY feelings ?'' People feel like jerks when they act like jerks. Own it.
It would be a shame if one simply smiled and said, ''Not today, thanks.'' I'll tell you what though. If I hear a bell at Christmas, I'll walk all the way across a parking lot to put a buck in the red bucket. Bah, HUMBUG to YOU, SIR !
Humbug I say, Humbug. ''I don't WANT to SHARE !'', said every three year old everywhere. But we love pictures of cats cuddling with dogs.
Go figure.
