Should be screwed into the granite. My granite contractor used to install inserts, now they run a metal bracket across the top that can accept trapping screws.
Looks like you have wood cabinets on both sides, many dishwashers offer a side mounting option. If you post make/model, or pull it out further and post a pic of the side of DW.
