When I was 13 years old back in 1973 I had the idea of arms at the side of a hovercraft that would explosively swing down and enable the hovercraft to jump or hop over dry land (
to get over a trench or gully). Worked a little different than Speed Racer's car, but same idea.
As one gets older one realizes that if you want to jump over something all you have to do is get a ramp or ride on a horse. It kind of sucks getting old and losing some of your imagination in exchange for pragmatism.
